"For the Kingdom of God is not just in words, but in the demonstration of power." 1 Corinthians 4:20
The word power has been usurped into implying dominion over persons and things, but we as Christians are called to be agents of change by exemplifying God's loving nature. "The day the power of Love overcomes the love for power, the wolrd will know true peace." God is Love, and a loveless life is living death; hence, everybody dies but not everybody lives. Charity & Faith Mission Church has been demonstrating the power of Gods love by providing essential needs to the community, in addition to spiritual enlightenment, in order to develop a love for one-self and God. Given the plight of so many around the world, it is not enough to profess ones faith in Christ but to embody his principles.
Jesus explicitly tells us that the greatest commandment is the Love for God. This invites us to understand him in the works we see his servants do and the miracles we have witnessed in our own personal lives. However, recent campaigns to destroy the calling of God over certain people renders most Christians paralyzed on the choice they need to make in following a Man of God. What is the antidote to this chaos then?
“...The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’' Mat 25:40
The second greatest commandment is to love thy neighbour as you love yourself. Therefore, it is not enough for one to profess the love for the orphans, the aged and the ill on Mandela Day, but is is imperative for the church to have institutions that take care of this aspect that Christ was referring to. Individual acts of kindness and efforts seldom make meaningful changes, therefore those who seek to make a change in the lives of the aforementioned persons, and the world at large, should partner with churches that have institutions that serve the community.
